So. What animal should we do next, guys?

Three years ago today, our neighbour Russia invade

Three years ago today, our neighbour Russia invaded Ukraine. As Norwegians, and as someone who used to have friends serving in the Russian military, it felt like a betrayal. On top of that, we had friends in Ukraine who soon after the invasion found themselves surrounded by the Russians. They were later captured, tortured and paraded on Russian television, all while wearing our uniform. It didn’t take long before the decision was made here at NorArm Tactical. We were going to shut down operations so we could go to Ukraine and provide support on the ground. Our first trip to Ukraine almost bankrupted the company. We were able to get home after three months, with literally nothing left in our bank account. We were still able to make a second «deployment» to Ukraine later that year, and we’ve been doing our very best ever since to support our friends.

And to the friends we’ve made, and the friends we’ve lost... you will forever be with us. We wish we could do more for you guys.

Two of my favourite photos from my last trip to Ukraine, where I spent some time training with a unit. Swedish Johan Fredriksson in the first slide and British Sam Newey in the second slide became good friends of mine. Both were later killed in action in separate events.

The recent signals from Washington regarding Ukraine are disappointing, but not unexpected. Rather than complain, Europe needs to wake up and take some responsibility. The invasion of Ukraine took place on our own doorsteps. We should have done a lot more, and way earlier. I have lost several personal friends and many customers in this conflict and know very well the reality facing the soldiers fighting. But if Russia is allowed to walk away thinking they won, they will have the incentive they need to do this again.

Europe needs to unite, focus and ramp up support for Ukraine and facilitate the destruction of the Russian military inside Ukraine. A negotiated or forced peace treaty should not be accepted at this point. So many good men and women, like Johan and Sam, have laid down their lives defending Ukraine... please don’t let their sacrifices have been in vain.
